It's been a tough year!

The holidays are upon us. The economy is at it's worst in 75+ years. The government finally admits we are in a recession. They say it will get worse before it gets better. Two of the local mills here closed down and over 200 workers are now out of jobs, that can not be replaced. Many are packing up and leaving town to work in Oregon or Alaska. Will our beautiful and quaint little town become a ghost town? No one knows what's going to happen for sure, but they say that 43% are expected to leave town before the first of the year.

It's been a tough year for a lot of my friends (both two legged and four.) My friends at AWBAR, A Wild Baby Animal Rescue (http://www.awbar.com/) had their worst year ever! First Parvo hit the shelter and wiped out almost all of the baby raccoons that were being cared for. The remaining and few survivors were were poisoned by a cruel and heartless person with antifreeze. Can you imagine the agony of dying a slow and painful death. I can not imagine how any person can do such a horrible thing! It's beyond my comprehension.

One lone survivor decided he was not going to go out into that big scarey wilderness. Perhaps Danny needed Amanda as much as she needed him? He is her bittersweet reminder of the tragic losses at AWBAR, but moreso, Danny is living proof that the STRONG will survive! My heart goes out to you Amanda. I know this year has been so hard on you. Next year will be better.......

I pray for us all.

To all of you please have a safe and happy holiday season and Peace and Goodwill to All!

Peace and Blessings,

Rainy Day Blues

Some days you get up and look out the window. The skies are dark and the rain is beating against your window pane. You can't really put your finger on it, but you are feeling sort of down and depressed. You don't feel like sitting there feeling sorry for yourself, so there is only one thing you can do on days like that....... toss a log on the fire and crank up the music! This page is dedicated to those rainy day blues. Also the days that I get snowed in and have a bad case of cabin fever. Face it. We all have those kinda days when we are just in a funk, but we rarely share them. It helps to realize that you aren't alone when you have days like that!

To all of my friends who are also feeling a bit down in the dumps or have a case of the blues..... I have this to say to you. Cheer up, crank your speakers up and come join me by the fire.

Hugs!
